A colocation data center typically houses multiple different companies’ servers at varying loads and cooling requirements, leveraging their own power and infrastructure.

Applications

Requirements

Since a colocation’s clientele continuously changes along with their hardware densities, flexibility and scalability in customer IT infrastructure deployments are essential.

When housing other servers under lease, ensuring security and reliability in cooling deployments is crucial. Cooling equipment with in-built redundancy features supports maximum workloads to secure UPS.

Rapid re-start capabilities are also required for colocations data centers to guarantee that the equipment is back at full capacity following a power re-enable in the minimum amount of time. This is particularly important for AI loads that require rapid power acceleration.

Intelligent features provide extra security by monitoring in-built variables and alerting you of any developing issues. This reduces day-to-day maintenance and future maintenance costs by forecasting and resolving issues before any failures occur.

Our Recommendations

For high-density racks that require liquid cooling, we would recommend a combination of air-cooled chillers and CDUs for the direct-to-chip cooled component. Accommodating liquid cooling ensures infinite scalability.

Combining this with indirect evaporative cooling units and fan stacks handles the auxiliary air-cooled loads, such as networking and storage racks, which typically have a lower density. This is particularly effective for cloud computing.
