Project Overview
VIRTUS LONDON2 is designed to deliver high quality customer solutions, comprised of over 6,000m2 net technical data center space, delivering 12MW of IT load.
The Zero unit was chosen for its ease of use and the operational savings from quick installation, user friendliness and easy maintenance.
The cooling system has significantly minimised energy consumption while maximising the amount of IT power available to customers.
Excool’s modular system has allowed VIRTUS to build its cooling infrastructure by increments, adding units in direct proportion to the number of racks and cabinets customers buy. This, according to VIRTUS, has been the key to minimising costs as the cooling system is closely mapped to the IT infrastructure.
The development achieved the Uptime Institute’s Tier III classification for design.
This was the first time this certification had been awarded to a data center using indirect evaporative technology in London.
